During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering online tutoring services to meet the unique academic needs of our students.
Dear Parents and Students,
We hope you are all well and keeping safe. As you are aware, all elementary and secondary schools are closed, and the Government of Canada is urging people to distance themselves from social gatherings for effective prevention and limiting the spread of COVID-19. This is an excellent measure being taken to keep families healthy, though it can interrupt students studies, social interaction and academic progress.
To those who feel concerned and are seeking safer alternatives, know that educators are working harder than ever to make sure students can continue their education at the highest quality in a safe environment. At Capital Tutor, the health and safety of our students and tutors is our top priority. Overseeing a wide network across the Ottawa and neighboring areas, we want to continue collaborations with students, families and teachers to provide the least possible disruption in education in a safe environment.
We want to inform you that in line with preventative measures taken by the leaders of our province and country, we are suspending all in-person, home tutoring sessions until further notice. However, Capital Tutor will continue to provide tutoring services and is offering families the option of online tutoring via Skype or Zoom or other options that you may use.
Online learning can be a great education supplement when it best fits a student’s needs. Even in the online space, our tutors will be able to virtually connect with their students, customize lessons to meet their academic needs, while continuously providing guidance and valuable learning skills.
Just like our in-person tutoring experience, students are matched directly with a tutor based on their needs, and given an individualized learning plan that is tailored just for them. No matter the environment, our goal is to guide students through their educational journey and help them achieve academic success.
If you already have regular sessions planned with one of our tutors, please feel free to connect with us or with them directly to arrange for these alternate online tutoring options. Our tutors may also contact you directly to work out the details of setting up online sessions. We are here to support you during this temporary shift to online tutoring so please feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.
We urge parents and students to stay informed about COVID-19 by checking for updates from the Public Health Agency of Canada, the World Health Organization and other reputable sources on what you can do to keep you and your family safe. We look forward to the day when the novel Coronavirus is contained and we can once again resume our normal routine without worry. Until then, our tutoring services are here to help students continue to achieve their academic goals with as little disruption as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns. please feel free to contact us.
Stay well. Stay safe.
